1. Who we are
This policy describes how iStockVisual.com (“we”) handles personal data when you visit istockvisual.com, create an account, download assets, use visual search, or open Help chat. Related rules: Terms of Use, Content License,Cookie Policy, Refund Policy.
The Service is hosted on Cloudflare. Account and session records are stored in Cloudflare D1 (and session storage such as KV where used for sign-in). Library files and short-lived visual-search uploads are stored in Cloudflare R2.
2. Information we collect
Account
When you sign up we store your name, email address, a hashed password, plan type (free or Pro), and plan expiry if applicable. We do not store your password in plain text.
Usage needed to run the Service
- Session cookies so you stay signed in and so free vs Pro sizes apply
- Download requests (asset, size such as 512 / 1K / 2K / 4K / 8K) so we can enforce plans and the HD fair-use cap
- Standard request logs on our host (IP address, user agent, URL, and similar technical data) for security and abuse prevention
Visual search
If you search with a photo, that file is uploaded so we can match it against the library (including color). Query photos are stored under a visual-search prefix and are deleted after about one hour. They are not published in the library and are not used on this site to train a public model.
Help chat
The on-site assistant answers from a fixed support brief (license, plans, tools, privacy). Do not paste passwords or payment numbers into chat. We may keep short operational logs of abuse or errors; chat is not a substitute for emailing a refund request.
Information we do not collect from studio tools
Image Editor, Convert, Vectorizer, Social Resizer, Batch Watermark, and Palette Generator run locally in your browser. Those files — and extracted palettes — are not uploaded to iStockVisual. The same is true of the on-page editor when it works from a preview already on your device.
Theme preference
Light or dark theme is saved in your browser’s local storage (istockvisual-theme). That value does not leave your device.
3. How we use information
- Create and maintain your account
- Authenticate sessions and protect against scrape and credential abuse
- Provide free and paid downloads and enforce plan and fair-use limits
- Run visual search and then delete the query photo
- Respond to support, refund, or legal requests
- Keep the Service secure and available
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Cookies and similar storage
We use essential cookies for sign-in and security. Theme preference uses local storage, not a cookie. Visual search may keep a short-lived query reference in session storage on your device. Details: Cookie Policy.
5. Sharing
We share data with infrastructure providers only as needed to host and operate the Service (currently Cloudflare for the Worker, D1, R2, and related edge features). We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the Service or other users, or in connection with a transfer of the Service to a successor operator, who must handle the data under comparable protections.
Payment details, when checkout is completed through a processor, are handled by that processor — we do not intend to store full card numbers on iStockVisual.
6. Retention
- Account data is kept while the account is open, and for a reasonable period afterward if needed for security, refunds, or legal records
- Visual-search query photos are removed after about one hour
- Download and server logs are retained only as long as needed for operations and abuse review
7. Your choices
You can update account details while signed in, sign out at any time, and control theme in the header. To correct data, close an account, or request a copy of the personal data we hold, emailhello@istockvisual.com from the address on the account. We may need to verify the request.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. We will honor requests required by applicable law.
8. International processing
Cloudflare may process data in more than one region. By using the Service you understand that your information may be processed outside the country where you live, with safeguards provided by our host.
9. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date on this page is the effective date. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised policy.
